Julie McArthur, RMT

Like many of us Julie faced some health challenges and sports related injuries that introduced her to health and wellness at a young age. Having the perspective of being a patient and benefiting first hand from alternative therapies while joined with western medicine, Julie was inspired to seek a career which provided these benefits to others. She is reminded daily that life is too short to get caught up on anything that doesn’t provide a positive outcome. Her greatest passion is helping others and is filled with humility and gratitude to be able to help you with your health. She is delighted to be part of a healthcare team and is excited to be working in this community, addressing the many conditions and concerns that massage therapy can assist.

She has experience working with a variety of people of all ages with different conditions but takes a special interest in pre\post natal, acute and chronic pain and stress, post surgical, sports injuries, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, whiplash, TMJ syndrome (sore jaw, grinding/clenching teeth), tension headaches and migraines.

Rather than treating just the symptoms, Julie’s therapeutic goal is to seek the source of injury, by thorough orthopedic assessment and using a variety of techniques including deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular release, muscle energy techniques, craniaosacral therapy, joint mobilizations, passive and active stretching and hydrotherapy. She is enthusiastic about working with you during treatment to reach and maintain your optimal health goals and after by providing an individual homecare plan.

Julie is a graduate of Utopia Academy and is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. She was first introduced to the world of massage in 2005 and completed an 1100 hour massage and bodywork program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. After working for a couple of years, her passion for health and wellness inspired her to complete the 3000 hour registered massage therapy course at Utopia Academy in Vancouver, BC.
